Discovering Planet Lira's Ecological Footprint

For a first assignment in an environmental science course, students must learn about their ecological footprint. From this  assignment, it tells the society the truth about their environmental judgement in the world of their own. In order to take an ecological footprint quiz, you have to visit the www.footprintnetwork.org/calculator.This quiz was very detailed that contain information such as how much food you consume, whether it's fresh or package products, how many miles you drive or ride a transportation, whether you keep buying new updated or replace some house known appliances, what type of products that you may recycle, the type of house that you live in with sq ft measure, and electricity matters of house or mobile phone.

In order to live in Planet Lira"s world, we will need 4.6 planets to help support our living with enough natural resources. Statistically, my ecological breakdown shows the biggest impact on my living decision such as we will be using 16% on food, 18% on shelter, 7% on mobility, 16% on goods, and 43% on service. Then to support Planet Lira's lifestyle, it takes 20.3 global acres of Earth's productive area, and 20.2 tons of carbon dioxide. Global acres is a type of units to measure productivity of an average acre of lands. Specifically, it's a world average acre of lands. productivity for all biologically productive land and water in a given year.

As usual, most people normally wonder What Ifs that will make a situation way better. For my list of making my ecological world better, there are three suggestion and it's result. Some suggestions were reducing the amount of animals products we eat by half, to purchase products that used less packing or were made out of 100% post - consumer recycled content material, and to use public transportation one day more each week.

To sum it all up, it's not all what you believe! Even though, you recycle newspaper, cardboard, construction waste, yard waste goes into green trash can, and take proper recyclables to the dump. It still take a lot more work to keep 1 Planet clean and healthy over needing an extra 3.6 Planets. For instance, a society must eat proper food, transportation with cars must be cut down, replacing new appliance must be taken care of properly, and proper housing requirements.
